About the role
We are seeking a Tableau Pulse / AI Specialist to define, document, and enable a standardized best-practice approach for Tableau Pulse and prepare the Tableau environment for AI-driven analytics. You will assess current Tableau publishing and content practices and recommend changes required to deliver AI-ready datasets. Key responsibilities include reviewing Tableau Cloud permissions and security, developing an automated approach to convert packaged data sources into published sources, and establishing standards for governed, certified, and analytics/AI-ready data. You will produce clear enterprise-level documentation and enablement materials for both technical and business stakeholders. This is a remote, full-time contract based in India for an initial 3-month engagement. The role expects candidates with 6+ years of relevant experience working at enterprise scale.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience working with enterprise Tableau deployments and Tableau Pulse.
- Deep, hands-on experience with Tableau Pulse at enterprise scale, including metric definitions, subscriptions, enablement, and adoption.
- Assess and document current Tableau content development and publishing practices and recommend changes to produce AI-ready datasets for Tableau Pulse and Tableau MCP.
- Strong understanding of Tableau Cloud permissions architecture (projects, groups, roles, locked permissions) and experience implementing row-level security; ability to identify security risks and recommend a scalable permission management model.
- Proven experience designing AI/analytics-ready published data sources and defining certification and governance standards.
- Experience automating Tableau data-source conversion and migration using Tableau REST and/or Metadata APIs, Python, and/or tabcmd.
- Ability to create clear, enterprise-level documentation and enablement material for both technical and business stakeholders, and to define rollout and enablement plans.
